I work at my private practice in two locations (Newbury and Maidenhead) and I am also a group therapist for parent & baby groups at Home-Start UK. I continue to learn and keep my skills fresh through continued professional development courses. This year I have focused on couples therapy and infant mental health. I also write articles and share other therapeutic resources on my Facebook Page. Please have a look and I hope you can find something inspiring for yourself.
My approach to therapy is awareness and change oriented. After further advanced training, I bring to my counselling practice Emotionally Focused Therapy and Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy techniques, which have been validated by an extensive body of research proving their effectiveness.
Originally I trained in Integrative Humanistic Counselling at the Iron Mill College in Exeter. Before starting the private practice in Newbury I gained valuable experience in two community clinics in London, where I developed skills for both an open-ended, longer form of therapy and focused, short-time counselling.
I also worked with university students, primary school children and people in the midst of a suicidal crisis at the Suicidal Respite Centre in London. As a result, I am experienced in seeing a great variety of clients presenting a wide range of issues for either 6 to 12 sessions or well over a year.
